Crucial Conversations

DURATION:  Two days

Overview:  Crucial Conversations gives you tools to handle life’s most difficult and important conversations. They’re the day-to-day conversations that affect your life.  Every team and every organization has problems. The difference between the best and the merely good is not how many problems they have, but whether or not they candidly discuss and resolve them. The difference is in how they handle the Crucial Conversations that are the key to resolving their problems.

Whether they take place at work or at home, with the skills you'll learn in this course, you'll never have to worry about the outcome of another crucial conversation again!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Learn to spot the conversations that are keeping you from what you want
• Learn to stay focused on what you really want
• Learn to notice when safety is at risk
• Learn to make it safe to talk about almost anything
• Learn to create mutual purpose
• Learn to stay in dialogue when you’re angry, scared or hurt
• Learn to master your emotions ad return to dialogue
• Learn to speak persuasively, not abrasively
• Learn to listen when others blow up or clam up
• Learn to turn crucial conversations in action and result

If you live in a culture ruled by strained collaboration, weak accountability and sagging morale, it's time to incite rapid change and experience real results.  By implementing the principles and tools taught in the award-winning Crucial Conversations training, you will see significant improvement in areas such as:

  • Performance - talking honestly and openly with people no matter how delicate the topic or powerful the individual
  • Productivity - making decisions in a way that encourages people to act on them with conviction; eliminating resistance and infighting.
  • Meetings - speaking up when things get off track and suggesting how to improve them
